STRENGTHENING OUR RESPONSE TO FAMILY VIOLENCE standard

Today we launched our program to tackle the issue of family violence within the Mansfield Community.   Not all incidents of family violence are reported to police which is why a health system intervention is so important.  A significant proportion of people in our community are either directly or indirectly effected by family violence and this is most likely to have been committed by someone they know.  These people are predominantly women and children.  We are happy to be a part of a cultural change that sees family violence as a health issue and one that we can all work together as a community to address. Local Drug Action Team standard

Research undertaken by the Penington Institute identified that a local approach to tackling drug use was the best approach and likely to be the most successful. Board Chair Mr. Jeremy Madin presented the Annual Report and Quality Account, both of which will soon be available in a PDF version in the publications section of this website. Hardcopies can be obtained by contacting us.

Contribute to MDH’s Service Plan standard

Work on our Clinical Service Plan 2017-2022 is well underway. Alison Hallahan from Biruu.Health has been tasked with the responsibility to consult with community members, government departments, Doctors and MDH staff to identify what clinical services our community needs and what clinical services we could or should be providing. All health services are required to have a current clinical services plan. Thanks to the people of Jamieson, Bonnie Doon and Merrijig who took up the invitation to participate in our community forums and put their views forward. Rest assured we are listening. Further consultations are happening this week.
