PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION

In response to the threat posed by COVID-19 in our health service we have implemented visiting restrictions. In some instances these are more stringent than those recommended. Our rationale is to protect our community’s most vulnerable people and to assist us to continue to have the resources to provide health care over the coming months.

In summary:
There is a restriction on all visitors into Buckland House Nursing Home effective from 5:00pm today (March 24th). That is, visits are not permitted, unless in special circumstances approved by us.

There is a restriction on visiting hours into the hospital where unless there are special circumstances that are approved by us, visits are restricted to 2 visitors per day each for a maximum of 30 minutes, whereby visitors visit one patient only.

The visiting restrictions that apply to Buckland House Nursing Home will apply to Bindaree Retirement Centre from 5:00pm tomorrow (25th March).

Additionally, members of the public who aren’t employees, are not visiting or receiving health care should not attend any of MDH’s buildings.

Children under the age of 16 are not to enter health service buildings.

We apologise for this severe disruption as we are well aware the importance of maintaining social contact, however presently the health and safety of our community is our number 1 priority.

Please observe hand hygiene, cough etiquette and social isolation practices at all times.
