We unfortunately advise the community that MDH is an exposure site for COVID-19.
BINDAREE:
We have had 4 staff in Bindaree develop symptoms and return a positive COVID-19 result, either PCR or RAT. All other staff and residents have been tested. To date no resident has returned a positive result. Bindaree residents are being cared for in their rooms and no visitors are permitted at present.
If the situation doesn’t change we are hoping that Bindaree will be cleared on Monday.
Eligible Bindaree residents have received their 3rd vaccine dose prior to Christmas.
HOSPITAL:
Today we were informed by a staff member that they had returned a positive RAT. They had no symptoms whilst at work. Staff have been tested as have our inpatients. As a result we are reducing some services.
X Rays scheduled for Monday will be cancelled
People with Primary Care appointments for Monday and Tuesday will be contacted tomorrow
No visitors are permitted in the hospital
Urgent Care is open if you need emergency care. If you needs are not urgent we request you contact your GP Practice on Monday.
BUCKLAND HOUSE:
A staff member who works in Buckland House has also returned a positive RAT test today. This staff member has had no symptoms. Staff and residents have been tested. Residents are being cared for in their rooms and no visitors are permitted at present.
Eligible Buckland House residents have received their 3rd vaccine dose prior to Christmas.
Please note that all of our staff are fully vaccinated and a large number having received their third dose.
