Successful AGM standard

We held an extremely successful Annual General Meeting on 12th November. MDH AGM standard

Our Annual General Meeting will take place on 12th November at the Alzburg Resort and we are inviting all community members to attend. This year we are fortunate to have Dr Peter Brukner OAM as our Guest Speaker. Peter is a highly acclaimed sports and exercise physician who has worked with a number of elite sporting teams both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Peter is also co-founder of the public health campaign SugarbyHalf which seeks to reduce the consumption of sugar in the Australian diet. Mansfield District Hospital (MDH) is in the process of developing a five-year Strategic Plan that will set a clear and bold direction for MDH. As part of this process, we are seeking input from our communities and recent users of our services. We want to know what we are doing well, what you need, and how we can improve. Today we launched our program to tackle the issue of family violence within the Mansfield Community.   Not all incidents of family violence are reported to police which is why a health system intervention is so important.  A significant proportion of people in our community are either directly or indirectly effected by family violence and this is most likely to have been committed by someone they know.  These people are predominantly women and children.  We are happy to be a part of a cultural change that sees family violence as a health issue and one that we can all work together as a community to address. MDH is launching an innovative local based approach to tackle ICE and other drug use in the Mansfield community. We are seeking to recruit interested members of the community to be a part of our steering committee.
