Following an announcement this morning by the Prime Minister on behalf of the National Cabinet we have been directed to implement some immediate changes to both Bindaree and Buckland House.▪️ People who have returned from overseas in the last 14 days will not be permitted to enter an aged care facility▪️ People who have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days will not be permitted to enter an aged care facility▪️ People with fever or symptoms or acute respiratory infection or symptoms will not be permitted to enter an aged care facility▪️ Aged care residents will be limited to visits by a maximum of two people per day (except for palliative care)▪️ Visits are to be restricted ...

Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus standard

When visiting Mansfield District Hospital, you should wash your hands with soap or water or use an alcohol-based hand rub located in various places throughout our facility upon arrival prior to entering the person’s room. You should also follow the same procedure when you are leaving. We also ask that you only visit one person at any one time. If you have any respiratory symptoms we ask that you refrain from visiting anyone in hospital, Bindaree or Buckland House. Our aged care residents are particularly vulnerable and it is important that we reduce the risk as much as possible whilst still encouraging interaction with family and friends. Mansfield District Hospital, Central General Practice and Mansfield Medical Clinic are responding to the challenges of Coronavirus or COVID-19 as it is known.  Coronavirus is a virus that causes an infection in people that can include a respiratory illness.  In most people it is unlikely to be severe. Elderly people or those with a pre-existing medical condition are more vulnerable and at greater risk of experiencing severe symptoms.
