The hospital is overseen by a Board of Directors appointed by the Governor-in-Council upon the recommendation of the Minister for Health.

Chair
Matthew is an accomplished board chair, advisor, and medtech development and commercialisation consultant with 30+ years of leadership and governance across the healthcare, medtech, and biotechnology sectors.
Starting his career in hospitals as a cardiac technologist, he transitioned to industry where his experience spans the development and commercialisation of complex technologies, including medical devices, software platforms, automation systems, pathology consumables and diagnostic assays — taking products from research and development through manufacturing, regulatory approval, and global market launch.
Matthew has served as CEO of both private and publicly listed companies in Australia, including leading one organisation through a successful IPO on the ASX; and has held board director and chairperson roles on multiple corporate boards.
He has a strong family connection to Mansfield and Jamieson where his ancestors settled in 1863. Matthew and his family currently split their time between Melbourne and their property on the Jamieson River.
Deputy Chair
Lisa is a senior finance professional with more than 20 years experience in finance management, accounting and risk management. CPA qualified, her career has spanned a variety of senior roles in diverse organisations, from some of Australia’s largest corporations to smaller start-ups and everything in between.
Lisa lives in the Mansfield area with her husband and two girls.
Director
Karen is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors course and brings almost 20 years of governance experience to the Board. She has worked for government, large corporate and small and medium-sized enterprises, including three decades in the education sector. Karen moved to Mt Buller in June 2017.
Karen’s interests are in strategic planning and community service. She has a PhD in Montessori leadership and has recently become involved in the training of organisational administrators. In 2016, Karen was awarded a State Fellowship Award from the Australian Council of Educational Leaders for her contribution to the education sector.
Director
Amanda is a registered solicitor and began her career working in commercial leasing and contract law before transitioning to the public sector working in diverse executive managerial roles.
Amanda brings considerable experience in corporate planning, risk management, procurement and contract administration in the private and public sectors. Her recent focus has been on property management and corporate strategic and capital works planning for the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Resort Management Board.
Living in Bonnie Doon and working on Mt Buller allows Amanda to connect to two thriving communities and understand their unique health needs and connections to Mansfield District Hospital services.
Director
Richard has extensive finance, audit, commercial and general management experience, gained working across Australia and New Zealand. He has mainly worked for major consultancies, as well as in the electricity industry and, for two years as a Public Servant in the health sector.
Richard has served on a range of corporate, member-based and charitable boards and committees. He holds management and finance qualifications.
Having had family connections to the district for many years, he and his wife permanently relocated from Auckland to Mansfield in late 2020.

Rachel is a local pharmacist, who has lived in Mansfield since 2010.
Her early career started in hospital pharmacy in New Zealand and then the UK, giving her a wide experience in a variety of health systems.
With over 20 years working in pharmacy, Rachel brings extensive experience in healthcare and an understanding of the synergies between different parts of the health system and services.
Rachel currently works part-time while also raising two boys and breeding Angus cattle on her farm in Barwite with her husband.

Stephen is an experienced executive within the public health and community development sectors. He ran his own national business in the corporate health field, has been the National Director of the peak body for organ and tissue donation, CEO of YMCAs in Victoria and NSW, and a senior executive for YMCA Australia.
Stephen is currently the Senior Advocacy Advisor for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation. He is also a Director of Holstep Health, a community health service that resulted from the merger of Banyule Community Health Services and Merri Health.
He has a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Science and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Catherine is a highly experienced service delivery senior executive with skills in strategic planning, business operations, shared services, organisational culture development and stakeholder engagement, across the finance and community services sectors.
With 15+ years serving on boards and committees, Catherine is currently Chair of First Step, an addiction, mental health and legal services organisation, and Director of You Matter which works alongside community agencies to support women and children recover from family violence.
Catherine has had a long association with the Mansfield district, as a property owner in Merrijig for over 30 years and through family members who live, work, volunteer and are schooled locally. Catherine lives in Melbourne with her husband.

Kristy is a seasoned healthcare leader with over 20 years of expertise in strategy, clinical governance, clinical leadership, service planning and risk management across complex health and aged care environments. She has led system-wide improvements focusing on quality, safety, and accountability, contributing to the development of sustainable and responsive health services.
Kristy is passionate about delivering safe, person-centred care that meets the needs of the local community. Having holidayed in Jamieson throughout her life, she and her husband made it their permanent home with their three children in 2022.
She holds a Master of Public Health (Health Service Management) and a Bachelor of Speech Pathology.

Our structure allows a complex health service to function more effectively. The arrangement provides for leadership and management across the health service and determines, to a large extent the flow of information and the manner to which roles, responsibilities and authority are delegated to allow us to achieve our goals.
